We may be a little partial, but we believe that Albuquerque is one of the finest cities in the world. There’s so much to appreciate about this lovely metropolis, from our distinctive festivals to our illustrious history. If you aren’t already familiar with everything there is to love, allow us to introduce you to some of the most remarkable features.

The Sandia Mountains are Home

Many people consider New Mexico to be a desert, and they aren’t incorrect. However, unless you reside here, you may not be aware of how the Rocky Mountains surround our city, nor that there are many recreational possibilities available. Northeast Albuquerque is a short drive from the Cibola National Forest and the Sandia Mountains. You can always take the Sandia Peak Tramway to the top of the Sandia Crest for those who want to see the stunning scenery without going on a hike.

UNM is Key Part of Our Culture

The University of New Mexico is a focal point of Albuquerque. The university district is located in the southeast part of the city. The Pit, an underground arena in Albuquerque, offers the ultimate campus experience. It’s not only one of the nation’s few subterranean facilities, but it’s also home to Lobos basketball! The Lobos’ home winning percentage is remarkable, perhaps partly due to this unique and super-charged venue.

Close to the University of New Mexico, you’ll find Nob Hill—a vibrant neighborhood with all the neon and vintage Route 66 signs you could desire.

Downtown Albuquerque—The City Center

The southwest side of the city is home to Downtown Albuquerque and Old Town Albuquerque. The Old Town Plaza has some of the best dining in the city, as well as unique shopping. This region also features ABQ Bio-Parks, which are all popular. The Zoo, Botanic Gardens, Aquarium, and Tingley Beach offer unique experiences for the whole family.

From Past to Present—Albuquerque’s Rich History

Native life is intertwined with the culture in New Mexico, and it’s no secret that this state has a lot of native influence. Many of New Mexico’s Pueblos are located around Albuquerque. And the region contains artifacts dating back millennia. You’ll find a handful of these at Petroglyph National Monument. With so many indigenous people calling New Mexico home, their customs and lifestyles are preserved in many ways, such as the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center.

Albuquerque has it all, from the downtown nightlife to vast open spaces in the Sandia Mountains. The diversity of cultures is the key to Albuquerque’s rich heritage. And for allhttps://albuquerquerecycling.net/admin/#/collections/blog of these reasons, we adore Albuquerque.
